Legislative Research

Are you looking for legislation regarding a particular topic?  Find a bill by keyword, sponsor, or number using the legislature’s Bill Tracker; or look up existing laws in the Vermont Statutes.

There are fourteen standing committees in the House and you can find their scheduled meetings and hearings on the Legislative Wensite.

Visit the State House

The State House is open year-round from 8 AM to 4 PM. Visit on your own, schedule a State House tour, or reserve a room.

For Students

Every year, 30 young Vermonters serve in the State House, delivering messages between senators, representatives, and legislative offices. Learn how you can apply to become a Legislative Page.

The Office of the Speaker of the House and the Office of the Senate President Pro-Tempore have paid internships available for undergraduate students. Internships typically start in early January and continue through the spring semester.
