Statement from President Pro Tem Phil Baruth on Emergency Board's
Authorization of Flood-Relief Funds for Vermonters
Montpelier, Vt - Today President Pro Tempore Phil Baruth released the following statement:
"This afternoon the Vermont Emergency Board (E-Board) approved a transfer of up to $10 million for emergency financial assistance to Vermonters impacted by the recent flood disaster. I want to thank my legislative colleagues, the administration and Efficiency Vermont for their work to make this possible.
“This funding will enable Efficiency Vermont to provide grants for the replacement of Vermonters' flood-damaged and flood-destroyed appliances and equipment with qualified efficient products. Thousands of Vermonters have been impacted by the recent floods. It’s imperative that we help Vermonters rebuild with cleaner, more efficient options and support the transition to a more resilient future.”
